Guided by fate, it’s up to you to stop the forces that threaten these heroes and all of Excillant.Ī new world, a new story, and all-new Heroes of Light The Crystals' power exceeds the hand of man,Īnd if unleashed, would bring down death, disaster, M2C: buy the game ONLY if you are looking for a nice game to play that also gives you a good challenge.Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, nature's masters, I can continue writing things I dislike but I do not want to exaggerate.Īt the end I enjoyed the game because the Battle System it is still very good even if the set of abilities you unlock isn't insane as it was in the past chapters. Not overwold secrets like in BD1 when you traveld with AirShip searching for dragons and Eidolons, just some bosses in the maps corners (yes, if you want to find them just go to the corners). Quests are pretty much talk to this and that or kill that enemy or cut some grass to find and object then bring it back. Of course there are dungeons but there are no hidden secrets in them and pretty no reasons to go back in the dungeons apart quests. There are a few locations to visit (5 cities + 1 "optional"). The story is predictable and not so complicated. The game didn't amaze me like the first one did. Gloria is Agnes a bit more secure of herself and this time is a princess and not a vestal (still she is obsessed by crystals)Įlvis is Ringabel but with a pathetic backstory (and a bit older) Now, after years, it's time for a Switch chapter of the Saga.BD2 characters are a "reskin" of the BD1 characters. It was fine.Copy/Paste of the first one (even NPCs were in the same place saying the same exact things) with the addition of some dungeons and some jobs and a different storyline of course. The only drawback was when you start traveling from a world to another repeating everything countless times. This is my experience with the BD saga.I truly loved the first, it was original, it was immersive and the battle system! It was perfect. Just expect the same tired old story and settings from those same old school FF games. To directly address OP, if you like old school Final Fantasy, specifically FFV, you will love this game. I would def rank both Xenoblade games above BDII easily, though they are obviously not without their flaws. Not saying it's a bad game, but I would honestly rank BDII around Trials of Mana (which I thoroughly enjoyed and beat multiple times after the hard mode updates, so it isn't a slight). Pretty much the only excellent thing is the battle system. So many bad design choices (no quest log, no dungeon maps/can't move the camera, can't organize inventory etc.). There are things about the art style that are both good and not so good. The story is "okay" at best, the characters are very hit or miss, and basically nothing about the story or the interaction between the characters is original.
